Seeking a win-win solution for cyclists, walkers, and nature on the North Down Coastal Path

GET INVOLVED
We are for an alternative route for fast cycling from Belfast to Bangor. We are for preserving the character of the coastal path as a historical, natural asset with a fragile ecosystem of wildlife.
We are for gentle upgrading to improve access: but not for the massive infrastructure project that's going through planning which puts at risk the protection designations of Special Protected Area, Area of Special Scientific Interest, and the internationally recognised Ramsar site status. Rather than turn down DFI funding, our group are are calling for an additional path to be designed - a dedicated cycle route inland - so that people have a choice: a gentle leisure cycle on a coastal path with pedestrian priority, or speedy and commuting cycling inland.
